Plastic Wedding Bells

You can see what the littles have on their brains right now! They planned out a courtship, engagement, and wedding for their favorite dollhouse dolls and enlisted an older sibling for the decorations and photography.

The man, Nathan, and the girl, Natasha, went on a walk in the moonlight with a chaperone.

(Love the windowsill view)

"Will you marry me?"  Great reaction, eh?

Even that awkward moment afterward was included!

And a selfie of the photographer. : )

In his funny, deep, 'manly' voice Nathan announces to his bride-to-be, "Now let's hurry and get ready for our wedding today." Talk about stress! Engaged and getting married in the same day! And trying to get it all done before it's bedtime! ; )

Set up:
Since it was an outdoor wedding they put down a green towel as the grass and set up seats on either side of the aisle.

A wooden box with a runner of tulle served as the stage with Tumbling Tower blocks leading up to it for the steps. Mom's battery operated candles gave everything a nice cozy lighting and were posts for a crocheted canopy.

White picket fences (that kept falling down : p) lined the aisle.

They shook little yellow/gold and white beads all over as flowers.

The bridal room.

The time finally arrives:
Waiting...

Here come the flower girls!

And.... the bride!!!

Then there was a very short ceremony which consisted only of the Pastor saying, "And you may now kiss the bride!" Just the good parts, right? : )

Announcing Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Smith!!!
This is my favorite picture!

And they hurriedly drove off in a gaily decorated wagon to begin their plastic life together.

Smoothies and Sandwiches! So Blessed!

This week we were blessed by a sweet family down the street in a unique way. They invited the two oldest girls over to be taught kitchen tips and help prepare some different breakfasts. Halfway through those at home got a text- "Don't start lunch if you haven't already". A few minutes later the doorbell rang and smiling, they walked in with boxes, and boxes, and boxes of FOOD! Mixes in baggies with instructions, frozen smoothies, fruit, and numerous bags of made ahead breakfast burritos and sandwiches!
This morning we woke up to a delicious meal of strawberry, banana, mango, yogurt smoothies and egg, lunch meat, and cheese sandwiches on English muffins! It was scrumptious and fast!
Thanks so much you guys!

I just had to post this. For dessert Dad produced a 12 Snack Size pack of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups! It just struck me funny how huge it was! Just the right size for a huge, party sized, rowdy family!

A post coming up soon- hopefully on Monday-about a few things we have been doing lately!

Death to a Pig

I know you are probably wondering what this could be about?! It's really a funny story. Years back we bought a pig. Not a real live, squealing pig. A cute, stuffed, pink pig. It sat upright on its little tail and its ears poked up vigilantly. And of course you've got to sew a plastic gold ring to its snout, and set it up on a shelf  next to the bathroom mirror!

"As a ring of gold in a swine’s snout, so is a lovely woman who lacks discretion."(Proverbs 11:22, NKJV)

As we've moved from house to house we've always carried her with us as a reminder. Then the dog found her. She grabbed its leg in her mouth and whipped it around, playing tug-o-war, and ripping viciously at its little curly tail. We all agreed it was hers to keep. Not long later, Aimee found a plastic eyeball, the pig gutted and in bits. And so passes the pig...righteously judged.

Roses and Ramen

Jerry gave Betsy a bouquet of roses today when he walked in from work. It was so sweet!
And what was even more touching was that he also brought ramen noodle soup!!! We have been struggling to shake off a weird sickness for some time now and none of us are feeling particularly healthy at the moment. Ramen for dinner! Wahoo!
